Here are a few upcoming holiday celebrations, performances and events to help you plan your time in New York City.
NOVEMBER 2009
4th – 8th: New York Comedy Festival
Laugh the night away as The New York Comedy Festival kicks into high gear with top comedians performing
at venues around midtown.
8th – January 25th: Bauhaus Exhibition at MoMA
Experience modern art at its finest with the new Bauhaus exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art on 53rd
Street between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue.
13th – December 30th: Radio City Christmas Spectacular
The world-famous Rockettes are back with their annual Christmas Spectacular, performing show-stopping
favorites coupled with awe-inspiring choreography at Radio City.
25th: Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
Celebrate Thanksgiving the New York City way with the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The parade
begins at 9:00AM at 77th Street at Central Park West and ends in Herald Square.
27th: Black Friday Shopping
Shop till you drop as Black Friday deals are showcased in stores and boutiques along 5th Avenue
and throughout the city.
DECEMBER 2009
1st – 31st: New York City Ballet's Nutcracker
Experience a true holiday classic with New York City Ballet’s production of the Nutcracker. Playing all
month at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center.
1st - 31st: Holiday Shopping
Even window shopping is magical during the holiday season. Take stroll down Fifth Avenue and marvel
at the colorful displays. Pop inside for some of the year’s best deals.
2nd - Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
Join spectators from all over the world at the 77th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony from
7-9 p.m. The annual event is televised and features musical performances from a variety of popular
artists and the Radio City Rockettes. Rockefeller Center is located in the center of the complex between
47th and 50th Streets and 5th and 7th Avenues.
12-24th (select dates): Salvation Army Performances at ‘21’
Sing along to your favorite Christmas carols and Holiday tunes with the Salvation Army Chorale while
