Non-Union (Management)

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
We are looking for an experienced, energetic, highly personable individual to join our HR department.  The primary responsibilities of this position will include, but is not limited to:
  • Responsible for the Human Resource function, leading, managing and championing the culture of the company and its
    parent; complying with all regulations. 
  • Responsible for the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, screening and orientation of all employees; maintaining staffing
    levels with a supervisor staff.  
  • Coordinate interviews of potential new hires with respective department managers.
  • Follow up with the related clerical aspects of employment, such as completing employment forms, drug screening forms,
     I-9 documents.
  • Lead the company’s efforts to attract and retain, motivate and develop a superior staff, positioning business as the local
     Employer of Choice.
  • Assess needs, recommend and oversee training and development of all line staff.
  • Ensure performance evaluations are completed to the Company’s standards.
  • Coordinate and deliver employee orientation, ensuring that it is run regularly as required.
  • Assist where required in meetings and communications with Union representatives with the aim of developing a mutually
     workable relationship.
  • Maintain informative, bright and eye catching notice boards with up to date information.
  • Administer the Employee Recognition Programs and communicate effectively.
  • Counsel and coach managers on employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent administration of the disciplinary
     process, resolving complaints and maintaining a positive employee-oriented environment.
  • Keep up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective action.
  • Oversees management of controversial or sensitive staff issues in conjunction with the General Manager.
  • Conduct employee exit interviews, monitoring trends. 
  • Responsible for employee Safety and Security functions, ensuring a safe work environment and compliance with all local,
     state and federal regulations and reporting.
  • Administer Health and Safety, alcoholic beverage and food safety training to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Administer Worker’s Compensation and Unemployment Programs and reporting in accordance with local, state and
     federal regulations.
  • Implement, administer and communicate the benefits program in compliance with corporate procedures.
 
The ideal candidate for this position must have at least three years experience in general HR management including staff recruitment, payroll, and workers compensation. Experience in a unionized restaurant or hotel environment is required (preferably in New York). The person we seek must show excellent communication and organizational skills. You must be able to multi-task and enjoy maintaining good relationships with employees while demonstrating strong ability to influence others.  The ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining professional standards is important.  You must possess excellent customer service skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent deductive and reasoning skills.  A committed demeanor to constantly making improvements to all HR projects is highly desirable. Bi-lingual fluency in Spanish is an asset.

Non-Union (Non-Management) 

Kitchen Expediter

The candidate will have food knowledge and experience in a fast paced high volume environment. Must be organized and have the ability to stay calm and focused under pressure.The candidate must be able to read, write and speak English. Micros experience a plus.

Shift Supervisor
Seeking shift supervisors to direct the daytime and nighttime ware washing, cleaning, maintenance and utility duties of our busy, fast-paced operation. Position will report to restaurant's operations manager. Candidates must be motivated self-starters, have good communication skills, be proficient in English and Spanish, have decent computer skills and be patient with training and coaching. Must be able to demonstrate proper cleaning techniques. We are closed Sundays and major holidays. Salary consummate with experience. We offer 401k plan and benefits package.

Sous Chef
The candidate must have 5+ years of experience in a 3 stars or above establishment with excellent culinary skills (meat, fish, fabrication, execution, saute, grill, braise, large batch sauce, production, etc); NYC experience a plus. A culinary graduate with a management mindset, mature attitude and the ability to multitask that can lead by example is preferred. Candidate must also follow directions well and be a fast learner. High volume experience a plus. We are closed on Sundays and major holidays and offer medical, dental and vision coverage as well as matching 401(k) plan.

Wine Cellar Attendant
Candidate must be a motivated self-starter with inventory control experience and excellent computer skills to maintain award winning cellar. Duties will include receiving, storing, issuing and inventorying wine and beverage products, data entry of purchase orders, products received, issues, provide guest tours of wine cellar during lunch or dinner service. 
The attendant will also maintain cleanliness, care and custody of the cellar.  Proficient with Excel, Word and perpetual inventory programs a plus.  Limited but necessary guest relations are required. Applicant must be detail oriented and able to lift 50 pounds.

Union 

Dishwasher
21 Club seeks an energetic, hardworking and detailed oriented dishwasher/porter. Candidate must be able to perform heavy lifting, follow instructions and work unsupervised. Lounge Server
The candidate should be professional, well groomed, hospitality driven and is available days & evenings. A minimum of 5 years NYC experience in an upscale lounge, extensive knowledge of food, wine & beverage is preferred. Micros experience a plus. We offer top pay, paid overtime, fully paid medical benefits and a pension plan. Immediate opening. 21 Club is closed on Sundays and on major holidays.
